Music distribution
Amuse pricing is three yearly plans: Artist at $23.99, Artist Plus at $39.99 and Artist Pro at $59.99. All three include unlimited releases and YouTube Content ID, and none keeps your streaming royalties while you’re paying. The music distribution calculator shows how they compare with everyone else for your releases.
| Plan | Yearly fee | Per release | Royalty cut | YouTube Content ID | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Artist | $23.99 | None | None | Keeps 15% | 1 artist name |
| Artist Plus | $39.99 | None | None | Included | 2 artist names |
| Artist Pro | $59.99 | None | None | Included | No limits |
If you stop paying, your music stays up but Amuse keeps 25% of its royalties. Prices checked 27th October 2026.
Cover song licensing and mastering are paid extras on every plan, charged per cover and per track. For most solo artists, the jump to Artist Plus pays for itself only if Content ID earns you real money or you split a lot of songs.
If your subscription lapses, Amuse doesn’t take your music down. Instead it keeps a large share of all your royalties, removes YouTube monetisation, charges on splits and stops you uploading anything new.
The documented problem is in Amuse’s own paperwork: the subscription terms say releases “may” be removed on cancellation, while the newer help-centre article says they stay live. If staying up matters to you, get it confirmed in writing.
Artist suits a solo act that doesn’t lean on YouTube. Artist Plus suits two projects, heavy collaborators or anyone earning from Content ID. Artist Pro suits a small label. If money might get tight, remember the lapsed-account terms. Other providers are in our music distribution guides.
Amuse vs DistroKid is close on price: Amuse Artist is $23.99 a year and DistroKid Musician $24.99, both for unlimited releases with none of your streaming royalties kept. The real differences:
Pick Amuse if you want Content ID without per-release fees, or you’d rather your music stayed up, even at a cost. Pick DistroKid if you work with lots of collaborators who won’t sign up to Amuse, or you don’t use Content ID and want a simple yearly fee. Its plans are on our DistroKid pricing page.
No. All three Amuse plans we track charge a yearly fee. For nothing upfront, see free music distribution.
Not of streaming royalties while you’re subscribed. It keeps 15% of Content ID on the Artist plan, and a large cut of everything if you stop paying.
Yes. Upload to DistroKid with the same ISRC codes, then remove the Amuse versions once the new ones are live. Our guide on how to switch distributors explains the order.
