LANDR pricing for music distribution

LANDR pricing for distribution comes in three shapes: pay per release with no subscription, Distribution Basic at $24 a year, or Distribution Pro at $45 a year. The yearly plans keep none of your streaming royalties; pay per release keeps 15%. Which one costs least depends on how much you release, so try your numbers in the music distribution calculator.

We haven’t used LANDR and it doesn’t pay us. This page is based on LANDR’s published prices and terms (checked 27th October 2026) and on independent news reports.

LANDR

Plan Yearly fee Per release Royalty cut YouTube Content ID Limits
Pay per release None Single $9, EP $19, album $19 15% Not offered No limits
Distribution Basic $24 None None Keeps 20% 1 artist name
Distribution Pro $45 None None Keeps 20% 5 artist names

If you cancel a subscription, releases stay up but LANDR keeps 15% of their royalties. Prices checked 27th October 2026.

The three options

  • Pay per release: $9 a single or $19 an EP or album, once, plus the 15% cut. No YouTube Content ID.
  • Distribution Basic: unlimited releases for 1 artist. Content ID is free to switch on, and you get royalty splits.
  • Distribution Pro: up to 5 artists, faster reviews, metadata edits on live releases, a custom label name and release date, country exclusions, high-quality formats and a shot at Beatport. It’s built for small labels.

Pay per release only suits one low-earning release a year. Release three or more times and Basic works out cheaper.

LANDR distribution review: the catches

The best thing about LANDR is that your music stays up if you cancel. The weak spots are these:

  • Pro’s price is a promotion. It’s shown as a discount off a crossed-out price, and LANDR doesn’t say what it renews at. Budget for it going up.
  • Basic is slow and locked down. Reviews take 7–10 days, against 2–5 on Pro. You can’t edit a live release or set a custom release date, and there are monthly limits on AI-generated tracks.
  • Extra artists cost extra on both yearly plans, and LANDR doesn’t say whether that’s once or every year.
  • Content ID isn’t free money. LANDR keeps 20% of it on every plan.
  • Pay per release can carry a small monthly admin fee, taken from your royalties, if you don’t have a premium account.
  • Cancelling isn’t free. Your releases stay up, but LANDR starts taking a cut of their royalties.
  • Cover songs need a licence, charged per track.

Documented problems

We found no independent news reports of artists’ problems with LANDR’s distribution as of 29 October 2026. There are complaints on review sites about withheld royalties after fraud flags, as there are for most distributors, but we couldn’t verify them.

Who LANDR suits

Artists who might not pay forever and want their catalogue to stay up regardless, and small labels with up to five acts who want edits and release-date control. Other providers are in our music distribution guides.

LANDR vs DistroKid

LANDR vs DistroKid comes down to two things: YouTube and what happens when you stop paying.

  • Price for one artist: LANDR Basic is $24 a year, DistroKid Musician $24.99. Neither keeps any of your streaming royalties while you pay.
  • YouTube Content ID: LANDR has no per-release fee. DistroKid charges $4.95 per single every year and keeps 20%.
  • If you stop paying: LANDR leaves your releases up but takes a cut of their royalties. DistroKid takes them down.
  • Several artist names: Pro covers 5 for $45 a year. DistroKid Ultimate covers 5 for $89.99.

Pick LANDR if you want Content ID without paying per release, or you might stop paying one day. Pick DistroKid if you want to fix metadata or set release dates without a bigger plan, or want a price that doesn’t hang on an introductory offer. The full DistroKid plan list is on our DistroKid pricing page.

Common questions

Is LANDR distribution free?

No. The cheapest way in is pay per release, with no subscription but a fee per release and a 15% cut. If you want nothing upfront, see free music distribution.

Does LANDR take a percentage of my royalties?

Not on Basic or Pro while you’re paying. It does on pay per release, on Content ID, and on releases left up after you cancel.

Can I move my music to or from LANDR?

Yes. Use the same ISRC codes on the new upload so streams carry over; our guide on how to switch distributors explains the order.
