Guides
Music royalties are the money your songs earn each time they’re streamed, sold, played or performed, and they come in several kinds that go to different people. For most independent artists the first question is what a stream is worth, so these guides start with the per-stream rates for each service. They then explain who gets paid what, where the money goes before it reaches you, and what changes when a label signs you. Our calculators and data reports turn the rates into numbers for your own catalogue, so you can plan around real figures rather than guesses. We only use industry press, regulators and musicians’ own accounts, never a streaming service’s own numbers.
